Summer movies

This summer presents itself with a pretty decent number of interesting films. Already Toy Story 3 has made quite a few eyes weepy and some pockets very very rich. It had the best debut for any Pixar movie, earning an impressive 109 million during its first weekend. Karate Kid has also had a good start, bringing in good reviews and box office numbers, though it's expected to fade away in buzz lightyear's presence. Some important flops have been Sex and the city 2 (which I rather waterboard myself than watch it) or the A-Team (meh). Also Get Him To The Greek has gotten better-than-average reviews which has led some to believe it could be this year's The Hangover, something I doubt since it hasn't impressed in ticket sales.

In the near future of releases, we have some giants coming up. Of course, the
Twilight Saga Eclipse is expected to surpass even its predecessor, New Moon in earnings, something that remains to be seen since I think most people have lost faith in expecting a good twilight film (non-twihards I mean). But its more action-oriented trailers may encourage the male audience to see it, something that has rarely happened in the previous ones. Another giant which I already mentioned is Inception, which could be this year's highlights.

Rotten Tomatoes is reporting decent reviews for
Knight and Day, a movie I wanna see just because it seems a lot of fun, and because it was filmed in Sevilla :) However early reports say it has fallen flat on its first day, another testament to what seems to be quite a disastrous start of the summer season.
